Pediatric Dentist Joins WVU Dental and WVU School of Dentistry | School of Dentistry

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia – Meghan Bastin, DMD, MPHpediatric dentist, joined the department of pediatric dentistry at West Virginia University School of Dentistry as an assistant professor.
Dr. Bastin joins us from a private practice in northwestern Pennsylvania where she worked after completing her residency in pediatric dentistry at a hospital setting in New Jersey.
Bastin began her professional career in dentistry in 2007. She gained experience as an oral surgical assistant and dental hygienist before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine and Masters of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. in 2015.
In 2016, Bastin completed an advanced training program in general dentistry at NYU Langone in Ohio. In 2019, she completed an advanced training program in pediatric dentistry at St. Joseph’s Hospital in New Jersey.
Bastin’s interests include teledentistry, patient education, public health, didactic education, behavior management, clinical education, minimally invasive techniques and anesthesiology. His current research focuses on workforce changes and health care shortages in this part of Appalachia.
In addition to the School of Dentistry family, Bastin teaches and guides students in clinical care. Bastin also treats patients through WVU Dental.
