Dr Prashant Verma named top dentist for the third year in a row
WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / September 28, 2021 / Dr Prashant Verma, dentist and endodontist at Centerville Endodontics and Capitol Endodontics, was selected as one of DC’s top dentists in 2021 by Washingtonian Magazine. This is the third consecutive year that Dr. Verma has received this award.
“I am honored that my peers have chosen me as one of the best dentists in the DC area,” said Dr. Verma. “I think this reflects the innovative procedures we perform and the great results we seek with each patient. “
Washingtonian selected the winners by interviewing all local dentists they could find on the American Dental Association and other dental societies’ online list, interviewing a total of thousands of practitioners. Dentists who participated in the survey were asked to rate their peers on the basis of their experience, education, manners with patients, use of new techniques and technologies, and patient outcomes. Respondents were asked to rate only practitioners they knew personally.
Then the Washingtonian compiled and averaged the scores. They also looked at the awards a dentist had received.
Dr. Verma received his DDS degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California. He practiced as a general dentist in San Francisco before pursuing specialized training in endodontics at the School of Dentistry at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Dr. Verma is a diplomat with the American Board of Endodontics.
Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on the treatment of the soft tissue inside the tooth through procedures such as root canal treatment, root canal retreatment, and apical microsurgery. Centerville Endodontics and Capitol Endodontics also offer treatments for cracked teeth, traumatic dental injuries and tooth resorption. They use advanced technologies such as surgical operating microscopes and high resolution cone beam computed tomography imaging. It is one of the few endodontic practices in the area of VDD to offer a full range of sedation options for patients with dental anxiety, including nitrous oxide, conscious sedation and intravenous sedation.
“Although many patients fear root canals, we use cutting edge technology that makes root canal treatment no more uncomfortable than having a filling,” explained Dr. Verma. “Your comfort is our priority and we want to make sure you have a positive experience while getting the dental care you need. “
Dr. Verma typically performs over 1,000 endodontic treatments per year, giving him extensive experience in dealing with any situation. In addition to his work at Centerville Endodontics and Capitol Endodontics, Dr. Verma is a part-time clinical assistant professor in the School of Dentistry at the University of Maryland. He maintains several active research collaborations, notably with his colleague from Centerville Endodontics, Dr Ali Nosrat. They have published extensively in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factors, including the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Endodontics.
