MAYOR Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., aims to modernize the city’s rural health units during his second term, where there will be 24-hour maternity units, a dedicated dental clinic and free medication readily available.
These will be similar to the Puso centers established at the town hall as well as the Barangay Pulung Cacutud RHU.
“We won’t stop until the five remaining RHUs are converted into Puso centers,” Lazatin said.
In addition to this, the city government, under his leadership, will allocate around £30 million to repair and equip the remaining 28 health sub-centres.
“Hindi lamang po natin i-up and mga health centers. We will also provide funds for the continuing education of all our municipal health workers – from the city health office, the Rafael Lazatin Memoral medical center, the blood bank, including Barangay health workers, workers from the people of Barangay and nutrition researchers in Barangay,” Lazatin said.
Additionally, Lazatin thanked all city health workers, fellow frontliners and backliners facing a virus and demanded an unprecedented response.
“We have been direct witnesses of your dedication and your courage. Again, we can’t thank you enough,” Lazatin said.
“Our fight is not over yet. Let’s continue to unite, to work together to completely stop this virus and its devastating consequences,” he added.
